When I try to get my friends to come with me to an opera, they usually don't want to go. This album was conceptualized out of wanting to try to express my love for the operatic compositions of George Frederick Handel using a musical vocabulary that would be more familiar to my intimates, and also performable given my severe technical limitations as an instrumentalist. I decided to recreate a complete opera using the tools available to me, in the hopes of showcasing what a great writer of songs Handel was, and also showcasing my strange sensibilities.
